What is the Hit-a-thon?
The Mid-City Little League Hit-a-thon is a league-wide fundraiser. Players will compete to win prizes based on how much they can raise and a fun on-field event to see how far they can hit the ball.
When is the Hit-a-thon?
Fundraising begins immediately and ends May 25th.
The on field Hit-a-thon will take place Saturday, May 30th, immediately following Closing Ceremonies (approximately 11:00 AM–1:00 PM). Prizes will be awarded at the end.
Where is the Hit-a-Thon?
Adams Avenue Field, immediately after Closing Ceremonies.
How does the Hit-A-Thon work?
Each registered player will collect donations through a personalized fundraising page. On the day of the event, every player will get a minimum of three chances to hit the ball as far as they can. Additional chances can be earned by reaching higher fundraising thresholds (each $50 raised = an additional chance to hit, up to 10 max).
Ex:
Raise up to $49: 3 chances
$50 - $99: 4 chances
$100 - $149: 5 chances
$150 - $199: 6 chances.., etc
How are donations collected?
We are using 99Pledges, a digital fundraising platform that makes it easy for families to collect donations online. No donations will be accepted by the league via cash. Each player will have their own fundraising page to collect pledges. Additionally, potential sponsors can search their name on the main fundraising page: https://app.99pledges.com/fund/midcity2026
How do I get my child’s fundraising link?
A personalized fundraising page link will be sent to the email used to register your child for Mid-City Little League.
What should I do once I get the link?
Once you receive your child’s fundraising page:
Share it with family and friends
Post it on your personal social media pages
Ask neighbors or local businesses to support your player
Start collecting donations right away
What is the fundraising goal?
Our stretch goal for this inaugural Hit-a-thon is to raise $20,000–$25,000.
How will the funds be used?
Funds raised will help Mid-City Little League:
Purchase more gear and supplies
Support essential field maintenance and upgrades (like a new mound and sunshades for the dugouts and bleachers!)
Keep the season high quality and affordable for families
Provide scholarships for families who need financial assistance
Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes. Mid-City Little League is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so donations made to the league are tax-deductible.
Are there prizes?
Yes. There will be lots of prizes to maximize the number of player winners. Prizes will be awarded in two main categories:
Fundraising Success
Top Overall Fundraiser: Eligible to win a major prize such as a Nintendo Switch 2, Padres tickets, or other big-ticket items
Top Fundraisers on Each Team: Smaller prizes, including baseball card packs, baseball gear, and swag
Team Incentive: Teams that reach a specific fundraising threshold can win a celebration prize such as a pizza party, ice cream party, or the chance to silly string the coaches
Hitting Performance
Farthest Hit: Prizes will be awarded for the farthest hit in each division, such as T-Ball, Rookies, Minors, and more
Does my child have to participate in fundraising to take part in the Hit-A-Thon?
All registered players are welcome to participate in the event. Fundraising is strongly encouraged because it directly supports the league and helps players qualify for prizes; however, no player is obligated to fundraise to participate.
Do I need to bring anything on the day of the event?
Players should come ready to participate with their usual baseball gear and water. More event-day details will be shared closer to the Hit-a-Thon.
